    Thesis Abstract

This story takes place in Mexico, during the Cristero War, a struggle that took place between 1926 and 1929. In this story two orphaned children live in a monastery, and are caught in a crossfire between the Federal army and the Catholic church. The war spills enough blood to summon a creature, something between a demon and a ghost. People pray to Jesus, their savior. The children make up stories about supernatural warriors. More people die. And the only one to hear those prayers is the demon who sleeps beneath the church.
