    Artist Statement

I am exploring the barrier between the conscious mind and the unconscious psyche. I use my personal experiences as the starting point to investigate the struggle which arises when the conscious mind is disconnected from—and therefore unaware of—unconscious drives. In the two projects I have been working on in the last couple of years, I have used the silkworm’s cocoon and the human skin as metaphors of the barrier between the conscious and the unconscious. Both projects involve the making of sculptural objects, performance, video, and installation.
